Tra Vinh province hosted 11th Meeting of Military medical science-technology of Mekong river delta

In the morning of December 17, 2016, at Tra Vinh University, Department of Health, Committee for Military Medical of Military Zone 9, and Tra Vinh University cooperated to celebrate 11th Meeting of Military medical science-technology of Mekong river delta. Representatives of Ministry of Health, Military Command and over 300 cadres of health branch in Mekong river delta attended the meeting.

Addressing at the meeting opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Trung Hoang – Vice Chairman of People's Committee of Tra Vinh province said 11th Meeting of Military medical science-technology of Mekong river delta is one of important contents concretized from National medical target program of Ministry of Health – National defense and celebrated since 1996. The meeting is celebrated once every 2 years and becomes a traditional science – technology activity of military medical branch in Mekong river delta with the aim of promoting science research, creative ability and studying of doctor staff. It is the chance for doctor and medical worker staff in Mekong river delta to meet, exchange experience, enhance professional knowledge, and serve people’s health checkup.

At the meeting, 91 projects of authors, cadres of military medical branch from 13 provinces and cities were reported. Those projects concentrated on community medical – a limited field in Mekong river delta. Many research projects are scientific and can be applied in treatment like Manage diabetes in Tra Vinh province under instruction of International Diabetes Association; Research characters of hospital infection and related factors at hospitals in Hau Giang province; Research and recommendations for herbal natural resource preservation in Bac Lieu province; Assessment of satisfaction of the patients for behavior of medical worker staff at Tra Vinh General Hospital in 2015… Especially, many projects research community healthcare in accordance with custom, living style and activities of people in Mekong river delta.

According to Organizing board, after 11 times, those meeting assessed over 700 projects. Hundreds of projects have been applied in checkup, treatment and prevention, helped to enhance checkup and treatment quality for soldiers and people in Mekong river delta.
