The Prime Minister's nationwide virtual conference with businesses
On August 11, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a nationwide virtual conference with enterprises with the theme "Proactive adaptation, quick recovery, and sustainable development." Attending the conference at the province's meeting point were the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Le Van Han; leaders of different provincial departments and branches; representatives of business associations and enterprises in the province.

According to a report by the Ministry of Planning and Investment, currently, 871,000 operating enterprises incur tax, the number of which increased by 13% compared to 2019. Meanwhile, more than 130,000 enterprises entered and re-entered the market, 26.8% more than that over the same period in 2021. And that number is also 1.4 times as many as the number of enterprises withdrawing from the market. The additionally registered capital reached over 3.3 million billion VND, an increase of over 37% over the same period in 2021. The domestic market of enterprises in some industries recovered over 75-85% compared to the time before the Covid-19 epidemic. Export turnover in July 2022 increased sharply, reaching 216.35 billion USD, rising 16.1% over the same period in 2021. Besides, there are 30 items with an export turnover of over 1 billion USD.

The confidence of investors and businesses is considered consolidated and positive. 92% of companies either kept their business scale or expanded production and business in the third quarter of 2022, and 85% of enterprises expect the production and business situation to stabilize and improve.

However, at present, the business sector still faces difficulties, both in supply and demand, due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic and the complicated development of the Russian-Ukrainian military conflict, which is at risk of prolonging. At the same time, the price of gasoline, fuel, and raw materials has increased, labor is in short supply, and inflation is high in many countries worldwide.

At the conference, the delegates comprehensively assessed the production and business situation in the first seven months of 2022 as well as the impact of the world economy on domestic activities; identified opportunities, difficulties, barriers, and obstacles that need to be removed and listened specifically to some solutions from the business community and business associations in several industries: tourism, aviation, construction, electronics, supporting initiatives, logistics, etc.

At the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh shared the challenges businesses face while fighting the epidemic, performing social responsibilities, and maintaining business operations simultaneously. The Prime Minister highly appreciated the positive and vital contribution of enterprises to the development of the country in the spirit of noble humanity.

The Prime Minister emphasized: The Government will continue to accompany businesses with the set tasks of continuing to stabilize the macro-economy, control inflation, promote economic growth, ensure significant balances and strongly encourage the development of safe, healthy, sustainable, open, and transparent markets such as capital market, real estate market, labor market.

The Prime Minister hoped that business associations should promote their roles in supporting companies by organizing connection activities so that those companies can overcome difficulties and challenges in the current period. Enterprises actively innovate production and business models and restructure associated with digital transformation. They also innovate, create and apply advanced and modern technologies to improve each enterprise's productivity, quality, and competitiveness. The goal of fast, effective, and sustainable development are made to contribute to socio-economic development and improve people's material and spiritual life.
